The Members Noticeboard is the section on our website which gives members the opportunity to publicise non-U3A events that they have a keen interest in or to invite others to join them for something particular like a cinema trip or garden visit etc. It will not be used for 'selling' items or promoting services. Have you heard about the new 'Ringwood Community Network'? It's a website created and supported by Ringwood Rotary to bring together all the organisations in and around Ringwood to benefit it's residents. We are an associated member. You can see what free or ticketed events are taking place by viewing the Calendar and can find Volunteering Opportunities for various events and groups - please take a look, they are currently seeking Marshalls for the Carnival on 21st Sept amongst other events. New Forest Summer Saturday "Healthy Walks", take place on the first Saturday of the month, start at 10am. Lasting approximately 1.5 hours. Might be muddy so strong shoes or walking boots advised. All welcome, no need to book, free of charge. 5th October, Franchise Lodge (Telegraph Hill Car Park - half way along Roger Penny Way on the B3078), 3 mile stroll along forest tracks around this new(ish) RSPB reserve. "Healthy Walks", lasting approximately 1 hour, often attended by several club members, take place every 2nd and 4th Wednesdays commencing at 10.30am on mostly flat paths. Ringwood 'Good Neighbours' provide lifts to important appointments for those unable to drive or catch a bus who live in the BH24 area. If you need this service please ring 07933 202112. This phone line is answered between 1000 and 12000 Monday to Friday. If you would like to volunteer to help please ring Mike O'Brien on 01425 474395. A small charge will be made. If you are able to become a driver or offer other help please contact Mike. Never any pressure to take a job if it's not convenient. The Ringwood Carers Group was set up to support Carers who look after their loved ones and provide a place where they can have a little time to themselves. They have a Dropin Cafe at the Trinity Centre, Ringwood on the second Thursday morning of every month 10.30am-noon. Tool Aid Ringwood is a charity formed to collect and refurbish usable tools, sewing machines, computers, bicycles and other items which are then sent to developing countries to enable people to escape poverty. The charity, SafeWise, who gave a talk to the club in 2018, are running 'Dorset Driver Gold'' courses to help people aged 65+ drive safely for longer by enhancing their driving skills and confidence. The 3 hour theory session costs £10 with breaks and refreshments included. Practical sessions cost £45 and last up to 90 minutes. Following receipt of booking form and payment you will be given details to arrange your drive directly with an approved driving instructor. Saturday 21st September, 8am to 3pm - Cherry tree Nursery (off the Northbourne Roundabout) are holding their Autumn Fayre and Plant Sale.

13th to 22nd September is Dorset Architectural Heritage Week when its possible to visit a wide range of buildings not normally open to the public, for free.
